Alliance Service...

Focusing employees' attention on issues important to your business.

Encouraged by licensees of on-premise and off-premise operations, Alliance Service was established to help verify employees check ID before the sale of alcoholic beverages. Alliance Service expanded to offer staff training in the nationally recognized TIPS® Alcohol Awareness management program and also offers quality assurance assessments that measure staff performance, service and product consistency.

ID Checks
Designed to keep staff focused, emphasizing for employees the serious consequences of selling/serving alcoholic beverages to minors. Shoppers reinforce training and stress consequences when house policies, state laws, or county ordinances are not followed.

Quality Assurance Assessments
Arranged visits provide feedback on the standards of excellence you expect; service, staff attitude, phone etiquette, food and beverage quality, accommodations, cleanliness in and outside your establishment.

Sanitation Walk-Through
Based on best practice of sanitation principles, arranged visits by ServSafe® certified personnel inspect your facility in between official county inspections.

Alcohol Awareness Training
TIPS® training is appropriate for clerks, servers, bartenders, hosts, security, managers, owners, and board of directors; private/public clubs, and fraternal organizations. Learn to recognize the progressive signs of intoxication, behavioral cues, when and how to slow or cut-off service, and strategies to stop underage drinking.

  1. On-Premise Training*
Appropriate for restaurants, bars, taverns, nightclubs, catering halls, golf clubs, and fraternal organizations.
  2. Off-Premise Training
Designed for grocery, convenience and liquor stores. When the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) orders an off-premise licensee to train their staff, the TIPS® Off-Premise or On-Premise Training satisfies the MLCC requirement.**
  3. Concessions*
Community festivals, sports stadiums, civic centers and arenas.
Contact Alliance Service to arrange a private training appropriate for concession workers, festival staff, volunteers, security, and board members.

Casinos*
Gambling halls, riverboats and casinos.

Social Functions*
Program for wedding receptions, banquets and catered events.
*The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) currently recognizes these programs as meeting the mandatory server training requirements.
For further explanation of On-Premise and Off-Premise training requirements contact the MLCC.**
